Vilon (Bioregulator)

Vilon (Lys–Glu) is a synthetic dipeptide bioregulator and the shortest peptide with demonstrated biological activity. It modulates chromatin structure, stimulates thymocyte proliferation and gene expression, supports immune function, and shows anti-aging, regenerative, and anti-carcinogenic effects in preclinical models.[1

Research Applications

1. Immune Function and Thymocyte Activity

Research shows Vilon stimulates thymocyte proliferation, upregulates markers such as CD5, and normalizes lymphocyte counts after immunosuppression.[4] It also supports regenerative activity in splenic and intestinal tissues.[4]

2. Anti-Aging and Lifespan Studies

In aged murine models, Vilon increased lifespan, improved physical endurance, and reduced spontaneous tumor incidence. Long-term administration showed no toxic effects, suggesting value as a tool in geroprotective research.[5]

3. Cancer Research

Vilon has been studied for its ability to reduce preneoplastic and neoplastic changes in experimental carcinogenesis.[6] In elderly colorectal cancer patients, adjunctive use improved two-year survival rates and lowered postoperative complications.[7]

4. Gastrointestinal and Organ Protection

Animal studies demonstrate Vilon enhances enzyme activity in the GI tract, improves nutrient absorption (glucose, glycine), and strengthens barrier function.⁸ It also modulates TGF-β1 in kidneys, supports hemostasis, and influences gene expression in cardiac tissue.[9]
